Sorry There’s So Few Rodeo Fans Here
We’re down to the last two perfs of the 10-day National Finals. It’s been everything I could ask for, with only one championship decided already, the All-Around won by 22 year old Stetson Wright. Stetson competes in Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding and just won his third consecutive All-Around title, competing in rough stock events, after years of dominance by Trevor Brazile, a timed event competitor. Maybe next year I’ll start a thread on Day 1 of the NFR and hope a few of us can have a discussion.

Some of you may wish to go to the President Trump thread and read about Medal of Honor recipient, James McCloughan, who sang the National Anthem earlier this week.

I really liked watching it on cable TV here in Las Vegas (each go round was played live, then reapeated later in the night), but then maybe a year or two ago, some other broadcast company got the rights to broadcast it and they are not available on cable here in Las Vegas.
Frankly, I think it lead to loss of interest among the locals here.
The local paper still has articles on it, but their readership is not very big these days.

A local radio station has a rodeo update segment which is quite brief (the 7 second update).

If memory serves the Cowboy Network is the only place to watch it and I don't know anyone who has access.

Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club!

When we dropped DTV we lost RFD-TV and the NFR. The Cowboy Channel has the NFR, and they’re part of RFD-TV. The Cowboy Channel requires a year-long subscription to watch the NFR, it’s $100, but it covers rodeos all year long. I think it’s worth it myself, but obviously unless you’ve grown up with it…
