Star Wars: Clone Wars - What order to watch?
So it is my understanding that there are two versions? 2003 and 2008.

What I do not understand is did 2008 incorporate the 2003 seasons? Or did they just continue the story?

I hope this makes sense. I have been wanting to watch these as I have never seen them.

Yeah, there are indeed two versions: the original from 2003 and a continuation in 2008. The 2008 version picks up where the 2003 series left off, so it continues the story rather than retelling it. Hope that clarifies things! And that quote captures the intensity well.

2003 *is* cannon according to Lucasfilm, but only mildly so. It's stylized and pretty good, IMO. The Anakin stuff is great from a "tormented hero" perspective.

I always recommend people watch the later series in chronological order. https://www.starwars.com/news/...logical-episodeorder

Baring that, Season 7, specifically the last 4 episodes of the season, are some of the greatest star wars stories put to motion (IMO).

There are great stories in the entire series, but the last few episodes are just so well done from a writing and score perspective. Obiwans tragic love story is pretty good too, but thats far earlier.

Be prepared for plenty of fluff filler episodes, but on the whole the series is great.

My wife and I have finished season 4. The episode with the lost love of Obi Wan really made me sad. Such great writing in some of these.

Looking forward to the end.
