Someone in your household insists on watching with

the sound audible.

I'll start with "The Voice".

My wife and I like pretty much the same TV shows, except for her occasional viewing of the Hallmark Channel. I almost have to leave the house Smile

I stream Amazon Prime and Netflix and occasionally YouTube or FreeVee.

I don't watch ANYTHING that comes over DirecTV and am rarely in the room for more than a few seconds when SWMBO is watching...well...pretty much anything.

“The Good Doctor”, the story of a “young autistic surgeon with savant syndrome”. It’s the Americanized version of the Korean-pop TV show of the same name.

MY GOD; how STUPID and IDIOTIC can that premise be? How did he become a SURGEON, much less a doctor? I guess it just goes to show that EQUITY and DIVERSITY with “challenges” is more important than QUALITY of INTELLIGENCE.

The female audience is the main target, as the actor is a “cute little puppy in need of love”, who previously starred as “Norman” in the TV remake of the “Bates Motel”. I’m just waiting for him to go all hatch-man in the Operating Room one day!!!

American Idol was actually pretty entertaining for its first two-three years. (My wife finally persuaded me to try it after she watched the first year.) But, about the time they lost Paula Abdul, or shortly after that, the shows character changed and we dropped it.

We were watching America's Got Talent until the WuFlu hit and they didn't have a live audience. There were some quite good acts on that. (I particularly enjoyed the various magic acts.)

My biggest problem with those shows is the judges and audience voting often seems biased by how "challenged" or "disadvantaged" the contestants are. I don't really care about that. What I care about is talent.

But....as they say "Happy wife, happy life"

She watches Doctor Who with me so it all balances out.

Husband will watch House of the Dragon and I just ignore the TV and read. I'm just not a fan of GRR Martin.

I watch mostly sports. The one show that I watch and he ignores is Escape to the Country. It's a BBC show about people looking to move into the British countryside. I enjoy seeing the old homes and the beautiful scenery. They also give some historical background about whatever village or town they're searching in.

The wife really likes those “true crime” shows… you know the ones that track the procedural progress of some horrific murder…. Usually a female victim.

I can not stand those shows. IMHO, it’s worse than pornography…I know persons commit gruesome crimes, but do we have to devote an hour to the graphic re-telling of those crimes? Is that really entertainment?

I won’t stay in the same room when she watches those shows.

My wife loves the British mystery series, like Father Brown. I find them childishly stupid. The same drown dialog and predictable plot. I've got to get out of the room. I don't mind "All Creatures". Thankfully we have several TV options and I usually end up watching my shows on my nice compute monitor in my little office.

Add to that 60 minutes, which for some reason my very right wing wife still watches. Barf me out with a salad fork!
