Destiny 2 pc beta went live for us at 1pm est.

Just thought I'd mention it as it is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm going to try it but I'm not to excited with only 4v4 pvp and 3man co-op. It seems a little outdated.

I was on the fence pre-beta but after a few hours of playing I wont pay for this.

I haven't even had any fun. It wasn't challenging, there is no carrot to keep me playing like leveling or upgrading weapons. Everyone gets the same cookie cutter options. I don't see any redeeming quality in this game.

Did you play the original?

That's just the way betas work - there's much more to the game than what is in the beta. They've put a lot of videos out showing progression, gear, etc.

I got bored on the PS4 beta pretty quick (except for the pvp stuff), but there will be much more content in the full release. Bungie just uses this to gather stats and stress test servers.

Yeah, beta doesn't show the progression and variety in the characters, just the gameplay and stress the servers

For PS4 they also said that the weapons were all intentionally vanilla, ability recharge was reduced, basically to control the parameters of the test

I will have my console preorder next Wednesday

Still an incredible shooter and I hope they learned from past mistakes and can keep me interested for awile. I havent touched my Ps4 in months. Ken and Kev are you guys on my friend list?

Dunno....I'm kevbeara on PS4. My friends list always gets weeded through because I play with my sons and end up with a ton of their friends on my list, who inevitably irritate the hell out of me, and then I delete all friends I don't immediately recognize

Yeah, I've probably changed the privacy settings or something. I will try and send you over one when I get on next. My 11 year old son inevitably makes friends with the most annoying English kids ever....and then I help them raid...and then they bomb me with friend requests....

Exactly why I made a sub account for my son. Then purged my friend list. He has his own console now.

If you have not played Destiny 1 then the beta won't blow your mind or anything because it was really limited. Those of us who played Destiny 1 have a bit better idea of what to expect when it comes to progression and special events and loot and such.

Still Destiny 2 is more like Destiny 1.5 than a real sequel. I hate the 4 on 4 PvP though and that is probably the biggest disappointment for me. Destiny was great for both its gameplay and for the social aspect of the game. 4 is way too small of a party and I can't see putting near as many hours into the PvP as I did the first one if I can only run with three other guys all night.

Destiny needs to separate PvP and PvE instead of treating them as the same game. They also need to go back to the year one loot drops where some guns were just really hard to get. Once they changed IB so that you got a gun pretty much every other match I became less interested. I think after the Rise of Iron update I got at least one of every new IB gun in the very first IB event. Loot is a balance and I think they made it way too easy to get everything in year 2 and beyond.

It was a deal breaker for me, i worked hard to get all those exotics only to have them nerfed and become useless. Then every Chuck and Larry could easily get better weapons than what I had for minimal effort. Whats the point in clearing a vault on Hard mode if the loot wasnt the best?

I understand your frustration. However, some of the raid gear was the best. At least it was the best for a while. Destiny 1 was around for 3 years with 2.5 raids, and a Prison we don't talk about. Fatebringer can't be the top PVE weapon forever. Icebreaker can't be the only sniper used in PVE/ToO.

I'm not condoning Bungie's treatment of PVE/PVP weapon balancing, but I can understand a bit of why it ended up the way it did.

True but they should not have become useless. They should have become something year one players could show off the newer players.

I played the beta and afterwards was glad I pre-ordered. It ran butter smooth on my PC and was everything I hoped to see so far. Hope to raid with y'all.
