TMatsSAS; Rogue Warriors
The story of the founding and history of the Special Air Service in World War II. This is a 3-part documentary put together by British historian, Ben Mcintyre. This is being shown now on Amazon Prime, but it looks like you can watch the mini-series on your computer. Mcintyre was given unrestricted access to the archives of the SAS for this production. Back in 1987 members of the original unit, including its founder David Sterling, were interviewed and filmed. It’s a well done documentary series and well worth your time.
Interesting side note. Many of you will remember the television series, The Rat Patrol. The TV show was actually based on the exploits of the SAS under Sterling in North Africa.
quote:
At the time of the original telecast, many British, Australian and New Zealand viewers took offense at the majority of American characters on the program, resulting in the show's being pulled from the BBC after six episodes. In Australia, the show was quickly relegated to a Saturday afternoon timeslot, when most people were out.

DzozerThis sounds really good!
There was an episode of "The Secret War" that covered the SAS very well - but it was only an hour.
