I liked that one, too.

I absolutely loved
Quills. My favorite actress Kate Winslet opposite Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis de Sade?! Hell, yeah! Directed by Philip Kaufman, who also helmed
The Right Stuff and
Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78!
My buddy took me to a sneak preview of that film on the Cal Berkeley campus when it first came out because he knew I loved Kate. The poster had Geoffrey Rush romantically embracing Kate. I asked him, "Oh, is this going to be like a Merchant-Ivory chick flick?" It was so not a chick flick...

DetonicsMk6Demonlover. It's about corporate espionage and what happens if things go really, really, REALLY, wrong when you're found out. I'm a Connie Nielson fan and I happened upon it awhile back. It's very well acted and has Chloe Sevigny and Gina Gershon as supporting actresses and some of the most stark violence on film. I don't "like" it but I appreciate it as a story -if that makes sense.

Never saw the movie but I did see it live on Broadway and highly enjoyed it.

In my middle school days I hung out with a little girl on the US National Figure Skating team so I sat through this one numerous times.
After reading this thread I am also reminded of The Notebook

If you like ABBA then you might like Muriel's Wedding. It is actually a pretty good movie and one of the films that came to mind when I read the title of this thread. ABBA songs are featured heavily.

Cutting edge, another great one. Main actor iirc is D.B. Sweeny. Someone else mentioned the lake house which I enjoyed.

YellowJacketthere are some goofy comedies that I like, mostly for their camp... Broken Lizard's Club Dread, for instance.
I also like Legends of the Fall, a lot, to some guys' dismay.
