Agree it is a pretty special movie. Two lost souls finding each other.

Another great song from the soundtrack:

Not a ScarJo fan. I can tolerate her in four films:

1. Lost in Translation
2. Ghost World
3. Manny & Lo
4. Her

It seems like many folks either love this film or thought it was boring/dumb as hell. I thought it was a fantastic story and very well done.

So...What the HELL did he say to her in the end?? Smile

I need to watch this again. I remember being very touched by it, but it's been a long time.

It doesn't matter. If it did, we would know.

I think that that's one of the wonderful things about it - You get to write your own ending.

What do you think he said? What would you have said?

I think he told her what was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

I love this movie. Especially the opening frame. Never gets old. I'm a Scar-Jo fan. Having been to Japan on business a couple of times, I can relate.

Actually, I am quite fascinated with the Lost in Translation-Her connection. Lost in Translation was partly based on the feelings of isolation and loneliness that Sofia Coppola had with her dissolving marriage to director Spike Jonze at the time. It's been suggested that Giovanni Ribisi's character is the avatar for Jonze in that movie.

Meanwhile, Spike Jonze's Her is Jonze's reaction to his divorce, with Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara's relationship being that film's parallel to Jonze and Coppola. And, ScarJo is prominent in both films, which is kinda weird. She's a main character in Lost and the voice of the computer operating system in Her.

And then Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara married in real life. It messes with my head!

Two of my favorite films of that style, and both similar in feel/tone.

If you enjoyed Lost in Translation, definitely check out Her. And vice versa.

I know. I seems to come up every thread on this movie, so I thought I'd beat it with a sarcastic emoticon version.
