The fighting Seabees! Required viewing for Naval personnel in the construction battalion. Actually more of a comedy really. One of the few movies in which John Wayne bites the dust.

I did not see Bridge on the River Kwai listed

He gets it in Sands of Iwo Jima too.

That is a pretty comprehensive list, that includes my favorites.

My Father and I always watched Stalag 17, whenever it came on TV.

At ease! At ease! NEXT!

That reminds me...was there WWII a movie set in Pacific where two soldiers, one American and one Japanese, were put on an island and have to battle each other for control of the island? Each gets help, which as recall was cheating and they both kill the soldier sent to help them?

I think you are mixing two movies. The one where they are on the Island to kill each other and then have "help" arrive is a Darren McGavin TV movie (ABC movies of the week which were great): The Challenge

The WWII one is Lee Marvin and Toshirô Mifune in Hell In The Pacific

OMG thank you for that! I remember watching The Challenge as a kid, and I can still remember bits of it, but never the name.
