furloughQuery from a retiree for you gamers out there....
bald1, Far Cry 3 is $19.99 on Steam now. Not nearly as twitchy as the Call of Duty games, but still a fun shooter.
If you sign up for Steam, I think I have a couple of gifts just sitting in my inventory. And Far Cry does co-op, where you can team up with a buddy to take down outposts. Good times.

bald1Appreciate the sentiments but as stated in my opening post, I've never developed any desire for multi-player games. At my age going with offline single player fare fits me well and avoids inevitable embarrassment I don't need over my fumble fingered control manipulation.

furloughOK! If you ever did co-op with me and my buddy you would see that almost all we do is screw things up and end up laughing hysterically afterwards.
I still have that Far Cry 3 gift (I already own it and got it during some sale a couple of years ago) if you want to try the single-player.

That's generous and I appreciate the offer. But I'm finding I'm already in over my head with these FPS games I have on hand. Your gift would no doubt better suit a younger, more experienced "gamer." Seriously, I am compelled to pass on this. Again my sincere thanks.
