Echoes of my misspent youth

A long time ago I saw Tommy twice at the local Comedy Den. He was really very good.
I remember him telling a joke and my table erupted. We were front, stage right, and he looked over and pointed at us and smiled and made a comment about us and the joke.
I've been to all kinds of sports (no foul balls or homeruns caught) and stage performances and never been acknowledged. A smile, nod and comment by Tommy is all I have and I'll keep it.

Although I never took part in illicit drugs, I was a huge fan of Cheech and Chong.

Who would have believed they would still be around in 2025.

Long Live Cheech and Chong.

My first concert was Cheech & Chong at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA, in 1974. I was six years old. I went with my aunt and older cousin. I thought they were hilarious. There were a bunch of boisterous people in that audience smoking some funny smelling cigarettes, I remember.

I saw them open at a music festival with Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick and others. At the time very funny. But years earlier when I was a 13 yo in middle school, I loved hearing them on the Dr Demento show, I think our AM radio stations banned them. I bought some of their 45s back then, and I looked through my collection this morning and found this (protected by a Beretta 85BB):



I used to have Earache My Eye and Basketball Jones, but I guess I they didn't make it after all of these years, a lot of my 45 records have been lost/tossed years ago. But my favorite was Earache My Eye.

Amazing to see live back in the early 70's. Even cracked up my dad.

Seen them once on tour. It was around 2006-2008. Cheech came out on stage in the tutu singing that rock song. I haven’t laughed that hard since.

Saw the trailer for the film a few days ago. Looking forward to it.

Tommy Chong, when he blows the joke Cheech did in the previous scene in Cheech and Chong's Next Movie: "I'm gonna turn this glass into a dick."

Back in the mid-70's we would ride our bikes to a friends house, he had all the C&C, George Carlin, and even Bill Cosby albums. We would laugh for hours and listened time after time.

I saw Tommy at a comedy club with my fiancé (now wife). He dragged her up on stage to play the part of Fifi the dog. Had her get on her hands and knees on top of a table on the stage. She was wearing a miniskirt. The audience enjoyed that.
He signed a t-shirt for me after the show. Still have it. Good times.

Thanks for the laughs! I haven't seen that in many years. Some great lines in there for certain.
