I've never cared much for Robin Williams' comedy, but he was a genius as a dramatic actor. He was excellent in Good Will Hunting, but better in Dead Poet's Society, one of my favorite films.

Williams impressed me in 1 Hour Photo and Insomnia. He played bad guys very well!

Season 2 Epp 1 of Homicide Life on the Streets (1994) featured Williams as a father and N.Y. Tourist who sees his wife gunned down in front of him. Powerful shit, the dude could act; as I recall Robin was nominated for an Emmy for this episode and Jake Gyllenhaal plays his young son.

Robin Williams could play anything, and be utterly convincing at it. Including the OP movie.
