I have to hide from everything, even email, when I have a recording to watch. Challenging!
Antonelli didn't let him through on purpose, but if those points were to have been the difference then Oscar would have let him through, so same result for the WDC.

I would have enjoyed watching that happen. It also could have been exciting if Leclerc had the pace at the end to catch and challenge Lando for third. After the last pitstops that briefly looked like a possibility. Either way, Kimi's unfortunate "error" last week robbed us all of some extra drama.

I think Lewis could have done better if he had put down his fist and stopped telling us Whose Lives Matter.

Sounds like you've been coaching John Elkann. That's what he was saying, without using those exact words.
I'm hard pressed to think of any driver having a better season than Max had this year. Nothing came very easily, he was fighting the whole way and really never put a foot wrong. Just about perfect.

McLaren, easily the team of the year Max, probably driver of the year especially the 2nd half of the season, followed by the MCL & MBZ boys

Well, there was Barcelona . . .
Had he lost by 20+ points no one would think of it. But I did not expect the RB team and max to fight back the way they did. They improved the car and he drove it to the very edge.

It’s about time. While I will admit that in the past he has made some tremendous contributions to RBR in the last couple of years he has made some blunders like stating on social media that “he” has signed a F2 driver. ( sorry I can’t remember the name) only to have the Owners have to walk it back… not a good thing to do.

The behind the scenes head to head emerging between Honda and Toyota should be entertaining.

OK, I had missed this somehow. I follow WRC, but the past month or so have been very distracted by other life things, didn't even see last two rallies.
For those that don't know him, he is a very young phenom in WRC, won two World Championships at age 22 and 23.
One of best stories was he was driving only part time in 2024, got a call two days before a rally in Poland, showed up and placed. When his phone rang, he was apparently replacing plugs on his Sea Doo....This message has been edited. Last edited by: Georgeair,

From watching Max talk about his friendship with lewis and even his tribute to the loss of lewis' pup. I have come to really respect them both.
I found this kind of fun.

An interesting speculative analysis of the 2026 AMR car with engine sound…
Max Verstappen has revealed that he will switch to racing under the number 3 for the 2026 season, with Lando Norris taking over the number 1 after beating the Red Bull driver to the title by just two points.
Since his debut with Toro Rosso back in 2015, Verstappen competed as car 33, but took the option of switching to the number 1 when he pipped Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton to the 2021 title, kicking off a four-year reign as World Champion.
That streak was brought to an end by Norris, who took third place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to secure his maiden title as a McLaren driver, with Verstappen missing out despite a late impressive comeback.
Instead of returning to his previous number 33, the Dutchman will take the number previously used by his former team mate Daniel Ricciardo. The two raced alongside each other at Red Bull from 2016 to 2018, but Verstappen explained that the change to number 3 has been a dream of his throughout his career.
In an interview with Viaplay, he said: “It won't be number 33. My favourite number has always been 3, apart from number 1. We can now swap, so it’ll be number 3.
“Number 33 was always fine, but I just like one 3 better than two. I always said it represented double luck, but I've already had my luck in Formula 1.”
It was also confirmed that both the FIA and Ricciardo, who retired from the sport in 2024 after an underwhelming final season with RB, gave permission for Verstappen to reinstate the number on the 2026 grid.

Wait, what?? I love Danny Ric as much as anyone, but how the hell does someone who's out of the sport get any sort of say? Is it just some goofy relic of still having a Super Licence? Does he even have one? Hard to find a complete list.

I believe there is a regulation that a driver keeps their number for X years [3 or 5, but can't recall for sure], regardless of their status in the sport. IIRC, DR would have kept it until 27 or 28 before 3 became availble for use.

I'm predicting Max will be switching back to 1 in 27. Everybody is starting from scratch next year with the new cars they should be pretty close performance wise meaning driver skills will be the difference. Max is I think, next level to everyone else.

2026 will be an interesting year, possibly a lot like the 2014 reset. Engine architecture change with dropping the MGU-H, and full aero/chassis reset.
Part of me hopes for a Brawn repeat with Cadillac, but I know that's wishful thinking and quite a long shot.
