My next DS9 rewatch is gonna be a little less glorious without the other Son of Mogh, and Future Jake Sisko around.

Tony Todd, ‘Candyman’ and ‘Final Destination’ Star, Dies at 69

Sorry to hear this, he played some good roles over the years. I really liked him in Night of the Living Dead (1990)

That's too bad and a bit too young. Great contemporary "that guy". Knew him from a million things, couldn't have told you is name.

Just saw this, he will be missed. As stated, one who many cannot name but who is recognized.

For some reason, I thought he was dead a while ago. Anyway, RIP Captain Kurn.

They did our boy Kurn dirty here. I always thought they should have had him joining up with the Bajoran Militia to teach them how to be warriors, some hardcore commando types. Then after Worf joins the House of Martok you could bring him back, or maybe he decides to stay with the Bajorans having found renewed purpose in life there. It's stupid too because like ten minutes later Worf gets his family's honor back and everything is cool.

He did join the Bajoran Militia in that episode. He found it so degrading that he tried to get a smuggler to kill him. The main point of the episode was how the other side of the coin (Kurn) broke under the same strain as Worf. Besides, we don't know if Kurn didn't have an honorable campaign against the Dominion.

Of course, we can't forget the best work that Tony Todd did.

He joined the station security as one of Odo's deputies, of course he wasn't into that, it's like asking some Tier 1 guy to be a mall cop.

For some reason, his dopey death in Michael Bay's The Rock just popped into my head.

Nic Cage: "Let's talk music. Do you like the Elton John song, 'Rocket Man'?"

Tony Todd: "I don't like soft-ass shit!"

Nic Cage: "Oh, well, I only bring it up because, uh, it's you. You're the Rocket Man!"

FWOOOSH!
