The Hulu mini-series "Pam and Tommy" is definitely NOT suitable for family viewing (includes full frontal male nudity, sex scenes, violence, and bad language), but is absolutely hilarious and extremely well written, directed, and acted by some first class talent (about untalented, low-class, people). This is the "untold" story of the stolen sex tape made by Pamela Anderson and husband Tommy Lee, the how/why/who was behind the theft. The cast stars Seth Rogan (as Rand, a down on his luck contractor, living paycheck to paycheck), Lily James (who was "Lady Rose" in Downton Abbey) plays Pamela Anderson, Sebastian Stan (aka "Bucky Barnes" from the Captain America series) as rapidly fading rockstar/crazy Tommy Lee, and Nick Offerman (from Parks and Rec) as Rand's pornographer/business partner "Uncle Miltie", all bring life to the eclectic souls that make up the villains/victims of this story that occurred in the early 1990's, when the "World Wide Web" was just getting started as a business place that would end the distribution of "adult entertainment" as the world knew it. After being ripped off and fired for work he'd foolishly invested both time and materials for (making a customized bedroom for Pam and Tommy), Rand decides to get money he believes he's owed (Tommy not only fired Rand without paying for the work and materials he'd provided on credit, Tommy threatened Rand with a shotgun after the later attempted to recover his personal tools), he carries out a plan to steal Tommy's safe full of guns. What resulted in not just the unlawful acquisition of firearms and expensive jewelry, but the unexpected inclusion of an explicit home videotape of Pamela and Tommy having sex. Rand decides he can market the sex tape and with the help of "Uncle Miltie" and the two sets up an offshore business venture to sell copies of the video online. Unfortunately for the both of them, their plan quickly falls apart and they find themselves being chased by a dangerous pairing of "Private Investigator to the Stars" Anthony Pellicano and outlaw bikers, hired to get the tape and/or the blood of those who were responsible for the theft and marketing of it. Yes, it's vulgar. But it's the kind of thoughtful vulgarity that will result in some damn good laughs. I probably shouldn't even describe some of the situations shown, but put up with of the offensive scenes and you will get some real thoughtful ones. Spoiler Alert!!! Besides some clearly raunchy scenes, there's substance to this series and how it portrays the time, place, and characters. Example: After a sex, drugs, and alcohol fueled four days in Mexico results in Pam and Tommy getting married on the beach (she IS wearing a white bikini), seeing the two seated in a limo upon being picked up at the airport trying to figure out who've they've married is as superbly telling about their life choices as it is poignant. They know they're sexually compatible, but otherwise are complete strangers. They don't know where each other resides, haven't a clue about their new spouses' families, upbringing, or even real name(s). What could possibly go wrong??? At present only the four previously released episodes are currently available (my wife and I binge watched them this weekend), but additional episodes will be shown on Fridays. I'm anxiously awaiting to see what happens next. "I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."

Watching episode 2 now, definitely some moments that got me laughing about this crazy couple. Evaluating volume of fire vs. shot placement effectiveness.

I’d forgotten about this, thanks for the reminder. If you haven’t watched “The Dirt” movie about Motley Crüe, it’s hilarious. Several scenes were bullshit (a fact they admit to during the movie) but still a brainless couple hours of entertainment. The book it’s based on was really good for a behind the scenes look at the bizarre history of such a huge 80s hair band.
