Teri Garr dead

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Teri Garr as an actress seemed like a throwback to the Golden Age of Hollywood. She played sympathetic women, did not pretend to be a sexpot.
Sorry to hear that she's passed.

100% agree. My favorite film since I was a really young child was the Black Stallion. And she was just as you described, and the film took place in 1946. She fit right in the Golden Age, in the film. Sad to hear of her passing.

I guess i didnt realize she was 79

I would say my favorite role is in the movie
Mr. Mom with Michael Keaton.

I always thought she was one of the hottest actresses out. Very poised, alluring, etc..

I always thought she personified the girl next door.

I have a beach and bikini movie on DVD where Teri is one of a dance group. She would have been about 18 when it was filmed. Long career. "YF" is a great one.

Teri Garr never let us down in a role. Cute, funny, sympathetic, sexy, warm - she had it all.

And she was a load of fun on the Tonight Show and Late Night. She was charming.

I seem to remember David Letterman gushing every time she was on his show, I really felt he had a big crush on her.

When I think about her, I always enjoyed her in anything I saw here in, but I don't think I know a single thing about her personal life. Which is nice, something missing from Hollywood today, where I know things about actors and actresses I'v never seen in a single role.

She looked darn good in "Let It Ride" with Richard Dreyfuss. I liked her in everything I saw her in.

How very sad to hear. She was always one of my favorites.

I think she was a secret crush of a lotta guys in my generation. Very beautiful and alluring. As someone I never knew, she seemed to be potentially as beautiful inside as outside.

To quote a screenwriter from the AP link above "Never the star, but always shining. She made everything she was in better"

I couldn't agree more. To which she might playfully reply: Sank you Doktor!
