I "got them" from the beginning, hearing them from Atlanta stations late at night in the Florida Panhandle.
They helped me define and understand my world in the day, when the majority thought they were something else altogether. No. They were not sold out to the "Devil", to the contrary.

The recreation center we frequented as teens, had a Seeburg juke box in the corner.
It was only a dime per play.
We played pool,ping pong and board games.
This got played a lot! Pretty close to too much.
Long cool women came in a close second.
