Absolutely it did

Synthesizers started making themselves a significant component of music in the late 70’s

One of my band mates picked up a mini moog and brought it to music class. It quickly became apparent that it ‘fit’ and the school went out and bought us a polymoog

I used to have an ARP 2600 but in a really bad decision I gave it away. Literally just gave it away.

Yeah, I used to own a Roland Juno 6 in the 80s, bought it used for a couple of hundred bucks; by then, everybody wanted a MIDI synth with patch storage, which the 6 did not have, and ended up losing value fast. Sold it years later for hundreds, but five years later, analog synths became the rage. The Juno 6 sells for thousands now.

I saw an original 2600 for sale - the asking price was between $14,000 and $16,000

I went out and purchased the Korg remake, its not bad, but its not the same - 60% of the size and the keyboard is seriously lacking

Off topic a bit, but this makes me think I shouldn't sell my DBX 3BX Expander.

Just about every psych snd prog band in the 60s/70s used a MOOG and/or a Mellotron, and I love the sound. Modern bands like Porcupine Tree and Steve Wilson still use a MOOG.

This is a faithful cover of the song first recorded by Clarence Carter. Perhaps not ironically, Gregg’s brother Duane, played on the Muscle Shoals recording session with Carter.

I love a full horn section and Allman often performed with one. There aren’t horn players on the stage for this performance and the horn section is covered by a synthesizer (remarkably), nevertheless, this has that big R&B sound that I love so much.

“Dangerous” Dan Toler on lead guitar, and his brother Dave on drums.

I went to pull up this documentary that in my mind was made just a year or so ago. It is 10 years old. Now I need to go take a nap.

Anyway, I love this documentary:
