Young Sherlock
Prime has a new series called Young Sherlock. I watched the first episode last night and I will watch the next one. Seems like it might be decent.

Colin Firth has a part and the costuming is great.

Looking to hear more as you progress through the series. I usually ignore "Young..." types of series as they generally to prove to be disappointing and DEI biased.

If you enjoy it, I'll take a look. I'm currently working through Death in Paradise (and spinoffs).

I'd like to watch it, but too many commercials.

(Insert I'm already paying for TV rant here...)

Episode was excellent, maybe better than #1. Some clever references to the original. There is a young constable named Lestrade and an older detective who wears a deer stalker hat and Sherlock said "The game is afoot". There is also a young James Moriarty who is on the verge of a life of crime.

I am really enjoying it.

I'm four episodes in. I wasn't sure if I would like it but gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised.

I couldn't figure out who the lady was playing Sherlock's mother. It is Natascha Mcelhone from Ronin and Designated Survivor.

I am still liking this series. They went all out on costumes, locations, and the number of extras.

Natasha has been alluring in everything I've seen her in.

I'm in a couple of episodes now. It's not bad, better than I was expecting. Although some aspects are annoying - like being quick to find guilt and blame in Moriarty and Holmes every time you turn around. That tires quickly.

I did appreciate the Princess' comment on Holmes' Chinese although he actually spoke pretty well (better than other actors I've heard). Usually the comments are "wow, you speak so well" (when in actuality it's usually crap to the point on being indiscernible) so it was refreshing to hear an honest opinion.

One thing: this series suggests that Holmes had a sister (Beatrice) who died very young. But there is another series (Enola?) where Holmes has a sister that lives to become a PI. Is there an accepted story here - does he have a sister or not and what's the outcome?

Anything I might say about a possible sister, would be counter productive.

I started this last night and really enjoyed the first episode. I like the whole concept and really see it going places.

I finished it last night and really enjoyed it. The ending leaves open a sequel possibility, but I don't know if that's part of the plan.

Obviously there is a "future" for Sherlock Holmes, but in this series? Big Grin

I watched it and thought it was well done. The way they handled Moriarty at the end would indicate that another season is possible.
