"It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday. "He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time."

Hurt and Kathleen Turner were the perfect pair in Body Heat. Need to watch that again.

I'm sorry to hear that. 71 is way too young.

I liked his performances. Altered States is one that I found hard to forget.

It's weird, because the other day I confused him with another actor that had died, so I went and checked IMDB. Sure enough he's still kicking. Well, he was.

Loved him in The Big Chill. 72 is too young.

71 is way too young...
When I read of his passing, the only movie I could think of was Gorky Park..
It has been a rough couple of weeks for actors...
Johnny Brown- Bookman from Good Times..
Conrad Janis - Mork and Mindy
Tim Considine - My Three Sons and The Shaggy Dog.
Mitchill Ryan - Magnum Force, Lethal Weapon, Grosse Point Blank

He played some good roles over the years. RIP William.

He reprised his role briefly as Donald Cooperman in Amazon’s series “Goliath,” aired last fall. He did not look well at all, but I thought perhaps he was playing the part after his character had a stroke in Season 1. He was an excellent actor. RIP.

I've reached the age where most of the headlines about famous people dying are people younger than I. And I don't mean from drug overdoses. Yikes.

That is a good film. He was a favorite of mine.
I'll miss new work from him.

He had a cool sounding voice, too.
I like his Narration work.
