I learned to appreciate Mike Ehrmantraut. Especially in BCS. regular guy who has many regrets in life, paid for those regrets dearly.
But still continues to make new regrets, which is the part that makes him unlikable for many.

Jesse's druggie GF was nice, but I can see why the writers {deleted spoiler}

With HBO's "The Wire", I'd rate "Breaking Bad" as one of the two best crime drama series ever produced. Yes, some of the episodes were kind of slow and provided very difficult to decipher clues as to where the producers were going, but those destinations were ultimately fulfilling to this viewer. The characters displayed very credible behaviors for flawed (like we all are) human beings, but watching their evolution (frequently to bad) gave insight into how the attempt to get immediate gratification by disregarding the reality of how unintended consequences leads to tragedy was spot on.

I know these clips are just a joke, but I loved Breaking Bad for what it was and "Better Call Saul" for what it strived to be. The producers may have hit a few foul balls on some episodes, but those knocked out of the park were well worth the wait.

I would argue that there were "likable" characters in B.B, Saul Goodman was a prime example. He was funny, smart, clever, and had an endless supply of quips and one liners. But he was a corrupt criminal type as well. There were many instances of Walter White of being a "sympathetic" character, I'm sure a number of viewers were rooting for him at times, but he gradually becomes 100% Heisenberg, an evil corrupt man. But as far as "likable characters", many great shows and films were short in this department, The Sopranos is an example, same with The Godfather, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, etc. But that doesn't diminish their standing as great cinema and TV.

The first season was the worst of the 5 seasons. Once you get into seasons 3 and 4, the best TV you've ever seen!
