MY wife and I are huge fans of Destiny 2 and are looking for help in the new season. We have maxed characters and a small clan. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to recruit any regular players. Wish I could help, but we are still stuck on PS3 with the original. I don’t know if the Dads of Destiny site is still running, you might try there for more players.

Is it as much of a grind as the first Destiny?

Hard to say - I only played the beta for D1. However, you can't be successful at endgame activities as a casual player. There certainly is a grind for top level and some of the exotic and prestige weapon quests.
