Taxi Driver has the best ending due to it's artistic nature and the ending is open to many interpretations.

The scene looking down from above at the apartment will be a classic for 100 years.

Good film noir has great endings. Although not well known I enjoyed Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons in Angel Face. Treasure of the Sierra Madre is another great one.

I've agreed with so many offerings in this thread. I didn't expect to find this one though.

I'm quite fond of foreign movies. This one this year has probably claimed the top spot on my list. I even started a thread about it. As brutal as the last half hour of this movie is, the very ending was just perfect.
