The wife and I go for almost anything with an Irish theme or location… but the Guinness show on Netflix has been an exception.

In our opinion, it’s awful. We stopped watching in the middle of episode three. Just not worth the time to find out what happens.

The amount of money spent on this drivel must have been considerable, even with AI CGI helping with “locations” such as Victorian warehouses and post-famine rural Co. Mayo and Co. Galway. Production values can not save execrable writing, imho.

The soundtrack distracts with plentiful sampling of Kneecap, a banal Irish rap duo who specialize in profane sexual “songs.”

Many of the women portrayed just “girl boss” to no end. The F-bombs are dropped like it was Dresden 1945. The actors portray characters as if it’s 2010, not 1860.

I’d warn everyone off this series as it wastes what might have been good source material.

Any different opinions? Am I just too hidebound to accept this genre of entertainment?

We only made it through one episode.

we have watched episode 1 and 2,

planing on finishing the series, but have others in the que and we watch depending on the wifes mood

Seems to be the way of most British/Irish TV shows nowadays. They are SO ate up with PC they base everything on today's standards and attitudes and not the standards and attitudes of the time it was actually set in.

Music is too loud, talking is too quiet. And the accent makes it hard to understand.

Only on episode 1 but yes the girl boss-ness is very apparent
