I would say it was better than okay (although not great), but agree that the violence and gore was turned up to eleven for no very good reason. Gratuitous.

I watched this over the weekend. It was okay for killing a few hours. As noted, the gore was gratuitous.

I'm sure it pissed the LDS off, but where there's smoke there's fire, IMO.

Having lived in the west for fifty years you hear all sorts of things about Mormon history they don't like repeated. I wasn't there, so I don't know.
