I have zero faith that Netflix will make anything worth watching.

Binged this one tonight and it was well worth the time.

Watched up to episode 3 so far. Episode 3 my wife said "I can't watch this anymore if she keeps making bad decisions." She was referring to the female lead. We will finish it as it is a pretty good watch and I hope the female lead finally gets it and starts listening. She made a comment near the end of the 3rd episode that indicates she gets it now. I hope she does and look forward to how it changes the trajectory of their plight.

I am curious about the historical accuracy. This is the first time I have heard about the Mormon Militias. A quick search reveals there was a Mormon Battalion that fought against Mexico, but no reference so far to the events depicted in the show. Could just be 'artistic license' and a work of fiction. It is a TV show after all.

Search "Mountain Meadows Massacre".

And that's one that's been acknowledged. You know there's more.

Thank you. It does appear that the show depicted that incident somewhat. I will research further.

Well, the annoying “female lead” hit her stride. And a few other things.
I’m with you, though. I was thinking to just tie her to a tree and ride away.

Oh dear Lord - my wife watched the first three episodes and I started on episode four.

That dipshit was a brainiac who should have been brained. She is the reason why my wife paused episode four and scolded me for talking too much.

I guess, "just shoot her too" is not the right active feedback?

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My initial reaction was that it’s just a cheap ripoff of The Revenant. I still don’t think it’s great but the third episode is pretty BADASS after how a certain character started out all prissy.

I have only the last episode left to watch. Dark and violent are the words I’d use to describe it. My wife had no interest in it, but I remain fascinated by it. I knew of the Morman Militia and at least something about the Meadows Massacre, but not much. I lived in rural, NE Utah for the better part of 5 years, and that part of LDS history was certainly buried away. I think the series is pretty good.

Watched the entire series over the weekend. Entertaining and well done. It was worth the time. Pretty bleak on the frontier.

Peter Berg's directing exhausts me. It is especially unwelcome in a period piece like this. And yes, lots of Revenant rip offs. I've only watched an episode and a half but I can't stand Betty Gilpin and can't stand the shaky cam.

Wife and me both liked it. The woman was really pissing us off too, I kept saying dump her ass she’s gonna get you killed.

I`m through EP 5, like it so far. My wife tapped out when that settler woman stopped an arrow with her head. The writer of The Revenant wrote it and it shows.

I enjoyed it. I’d watch another season.

Only made it halfway through. That woman is just too dumb. The guide would have walked off and left them.

I made it through. It was ok, but I felt like most of it was shock value scenes.
