This is a great episode with Warren Oates and Bruce Dern as bad guys. Some other big names in other roles.

One of my favorite episodes. Seems the black and white years are far better to watch in my opinion.

Was Bruce Dern ever a good guy in a western?

Saw a western Dern did with Burt Reynolds where Dern was a Sherif/good guy. In "Last Man Standing", he's a semi-good sherif as well (not exactly a western, but based on one and does take place in Texas).
Dern holds the distinction of being the only bad guy actor to hanging Clint Eastwood, kill John Wayne and beat up Charleton Heston.
