If you'd read the original Aliens vs Predator comic from Dark Horse, you'd remember that the human who teamed up with the Predator against the Aliens was a Japanese woman. That comic came out in 1989 and it was a terrific story. Of course, back then it wasn't the fact that she was a woman that made her the hero. She was just a badass. (Although, now that I think about it, most of the guys in the comic were misogynistic assholes and they were all white. Hmm, maybe I'm wrong?)
It's possible to have a female protagonist without pushing a woke agenda even in these trying times.

It's possible to redeem a franchise with a good story. Yes, the last couple of Predator movies were absolute trash, but it's still a great character and I'd love to see a movie do it justice.

I also read those books. Hollywood wasn’t as woke back then, so I don’t see too much relevance to the woke trash they put out lately. I agree that it is possible that it could be OK, but I won’t hold my breath.

I'm a total sucker for this franchise. Probably always will be. There's been one or two good videogames, and the first movie was awesome, but realistically, every other film since Predator 2 was dogshit and that one wasn't exactly an improvement on the original.
I'll watch this. I'll expect it to suck, but I'll still nerd out when Jautja goes Jautja because, and then I'll be disappointed that yet again, this awesome concept is being underdeveloped.
