Watched the first three, it's OK. Being a left wing loon doesn't enhance the watchability much plus his show demeanor is getting a bit old.

There's the politics! Awesome!

I said in the original thread, the second season makes him seem like a serial killer, he just wanders the country killing people at will.
And yes, politics. I'll watch crap on occasion, won't help fill his pockets doing so. If Ritchson had kept his politics to himself, it wouldn't have come up. We're urged to not interject politics into threads where it's not relevant. I think it is relevant, and the reason lots of people won't be watching.

It's a discussion about a show and fictional character. Discussing the actor's politics has no reason to be injected into it.

Oddly enough-
When season 2 came out, I read mostly negative reviews here, and stopped watching after 5 episodes. Fast forward a year, I couldn’t remember the negative reviews posted here, and rewatched all episodes of season 2 before I started season 3. I didn’t mind it as much as I remembered.

So a mere passing comment is a "discussion" ehh?

Okay, I had to look it up. Very collectible, ironically. F me, and F you are 2 lines I remember. Time seems to pass at a different rate for Reacher, ha.

I was ready to get out until he said "I'm in"". Glad I waited 30 seconds. Don't use your brain, stop critiquing, just watch. It more better that way.
I want a Sat phone that works indoors and small enough to fit in your boot heel. Maxwell Smart didn't have nothing on Reacher.
Ok, OK, he had Agent 99.
If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

I've a feeling the girlfriend won't be too critical. Reckon that's fair enough considering how many times a day I fall in love.

I read a lot of Child’s Reacher books early on. I found them kind of up and down; one would be good, the next mediocre.
I recall the controversy when Tom Cruise acquired film rights and starred in a couple of Reacher movies. Fans of the author were incensed that Cruise would have the audacity to play the character described by Lee Child as somewhere around 6’5” and 250 pounds.
Now we get Alan Ritchson’s cigar store Indian portrayal of Reacher and I find myself re-watching Tom Cruise. I ‘spose Cruise will never be considered a great actor, but for me, he’s Jack Reacher.

Depending on how you define "great", the movie business would disagree. He is the no. 1 A-Lister and has been for sometime. Successful may be a better term and most all of his movies are pretty enjoyable (including Jack Reacher). Amazing career.

Oh, I’m a fan, no doubt about it. Box office power and “A-lister” status do not necessarily mean Cruise has been recognized for acting ability. Personally, I think he’s good at everything he does, and the value of Academy Awards have been greatly diminished.
By the way, returning to the Reacher series on Prime, I don’t recall the Lee Child character being a cold-blooded killer. Maybe I’ve forgotten.

I fully admit to preferring Cruise's version of Reacher, despite his physical size. He definitely played the role as I see it in the books.

Well, the actor did an interview to promote himself and Reacher shows, here's what he said below, notice his t-shirt, do his values sit with the viewers values is a valid point, since he's the one that decided we should know what his values are...
Don't want to see it turn into a diatribe on wokeness, but it's valid to say you won't watch it because of his values he expressed..
While I've enjoyed watching Reacher 1, think I'll not watch this one and support his paycheck....

As to his shirt, that's not an unreasonable request.

I must suspend my disbelief that anyone would choose to risk limb and life for causes that do not rise to this level of committment.
Season 1 -- vengeance for family member Season 2 -- vengeance for brothers in arms Season 3 -- vengeance for sister in arms, but only after getting involved in something somewhat routine.
I think vengeance is perhaps the most popular movie theme, in general.

I read a few of the books. Some were pretty good but I quit after a half dozen or so. They all seemed basically the same. The guy is just randomly roaming around the country, and every place he stops he walks into somebody's trouble, tries to help them and gets into a huge conspiracy or gang war or something, and single-handedly saves the day.
I watched most of the first season, it was OK, but missed the second. The book that season 2 was based on one of the better ones IMO, so I might go back and watch that or at least give it a try. Season 3 sounds like it suffers from the now inevitable woke progressive crap.

I've been watching the series. I have two points:
1. His delivery of lines is getting to be boring. If he's going for "stoic," it's not happening for me. It looks more like he can't act. Even when he was mad that the FBI lead agent brought her sidekick to the meet, it's like he just read them off a menu.
2. The storyline is getting way too bad. For example, the scene where the FBI agent brought her side kick alone and the kid recognized him as the person Reacher killed in the first episode. "When I told you to meet me, I meant alone." Well, why the fuck didn't he specify not to bring the sidekick along?
Plus before their cover gets blown by the kid, the FBI agent kisses him and then gets mad and surprised? Really? Why the fuck introduce that now when there was never any hint or tension before? It certainly doesn't add anything to the story.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

^^^ IMO, the tension was evident before, and escalated in the wetsuit scene. It just bubbled over in the alley. It was, and has been handled clumsily, though.
