Buckingham Nicks Reissue
From the local news: They're not going their own way anymore. After much speculation, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham announced Wednesday the reissue of "Buckingham Nicks," more than 50 years after the release of their only full-length album as a duo.

This is the album that Mick Fleetwood heard and resulted in Linsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joining Fleetwood Mac. Frozen Love has long been a favorite but I wasn't tuned in enough to buy it in 1973. This is the first, perhaps only, reissue.

I have the songs in MP3 format, basically a bootleg, got it maybe over a dozen years ago. It is a great album, most of it sounds like it could have been on their first Fleetwood Mac album, both produced by Keith Olson in the same studio. The album went nowhere, nobody bought it, and interestingly, the first Fleetwood Mac record with Buckingham and Nicks that came out two years later eventually went to number 1 on the sales charts.

I always wondered if any Polydor records execs pulled their hair out a few years later after dropping the duo and killing the album.

I’m interested in how they mixed and recorded the reissue since the master tapes and pressing were lost. The bootlegs’ sound varies and aren’t the best from those I’ve heard.Edit, apparently they used the original analog tapes, I always thought they were lost.

Interestingly, the album was a slow burn and started to gain steam around the time they joined Fleetwood Mac.

A couple of months ago I ran into this article about a son discovering his late father was a concert promoter in Birmingham, AL which mentions Buckingham Nicks’ final concerts as a duo (includes a cool Lynyrd Skynyrd story as well).

Good, the version on Youtube music of Frozen Love is so low I have to turn it up so loud that the next song nearly blows my ear drums. Maybe this will fix that.
