Seven Days In Utopia
Anyone seen this? It came out in 2011. Robert Duvall if you like that guy. And a golf movie to all appearances.

My wife and I braved Costco earlier tonight and picked up a rotisserie chicken. I field stripped the bird for dinner while she selected a movie on Amazon Prime. She picked this. Neither of us are into golf, and we both pegged it as a Christian based just looking at the premise and the thumbnail pic. It is. But we both love Robert Duvall and went ahead anyway. When I was younger, these kinds of films (faith based) almost played like propaganda. Not this one.

A pretty enjoyable watch and filmed in some of the most beautiful parts of Texas hill country in and around Fredericksburg, and Utopia, in central Texas. I couldn't help but think of Jim Allen as this part of the state was his home. Makes me miss him more.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

...But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory, but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. - Psalm 63:11 [excerpted]

After seeing this thread, I just now watched this movie and really enjoyed it. It had a little 'Tin Cup', 'Open Range' and 'Second Hand Lions' in it. Robert Duval and golf together made it a no brainer.

Have all of you seen Duval in "The Apostle"? No golf but good AND Duval.

The American Revolution was carried out by a group of gun toting religious zealots.

Costco rotisserie chicken makes for the best chicken soup.

Actually a pretty decent flick but they completely ripped the storyline from Disney’s Cars.
