Miles Davis or SRV.

Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Healthwise, he wasn't in his prime during his early years. Musically, he always was. After he became clean and sober, he was all in, and quite incredible.

That is a hard one.
Frank Sinatra would albeit before my time would be classic.
Otherwise I guess if you bring back Keith Emerson you'd have to have Greg Lake ride for free too.
Would have loved to hear Alvin Lee before he passed.

That was funny. I did have the misfortune of seeing a few of those. The casino circuit here in Mississippi brought quite a number of performers who were well past their prime and still performing. It was quite sad to see Bo Diddley in one of his last performances. He still had his famous square guitar and mumbled Hey Bo Diddley before he left the stage. In contrast, some of the groups still had their stuff. Smokey Robinson put on quite a show.

I never got to see Janis Joplin. That would be my choice.

I think Bowie accomplished everything he wanted to and gave us all he had to offer. It was a good and long run. I say let him rest.

SRV was taken too soon but he was an I unevolving sort. As awesome as he was, I feel he would have worked himself into irrelevance.

Jimi Hendrix was an evolving type but it would have got weird, man.

I can't think of my answer to this question.

No Elvis or Jerry Garcia? Not my choice, but I'm still a bit surprised.

I agree I'd bring back someone who died young and had much more to offer. Several mentioned so far come to mind as does Nick Drake.

Another vote for John Bonham.

And Duane Allman.

I read something, somewhere, years ago that he would have likely moved over to some Jazz,

I could see that, as well as SRV doing the same,
at least as a side project

interesting comment,

some artists fall out of favor with the public, at least as far as getting the TV/internet time, and yet continue to make great music,

tastes change, new styles 'take over' and those with talent keep on keeping on,

They aren't dead yet, so they don't quite fit here, but on the "old guys that are still impressive," I saw one of the concerts on the Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood tour a few years ago and it was incredible.
