Will have to see if any nearby are playing it. I think the only full IMAX we have is near downtown.

I remember 40 years ago going to see Top Gun the first weekend of the summer and also the last weekend of the summer with my buddy Jose. I'll be seeing him at our 40th high school reunion that weekend. Maybe we should catch the movie for old times sake.

My dad and I were about to drive out to Stone Mountain to watch the laser show. I think we were meeting some friends and family for a picnic or something. Mom and the sister could not go so it was just the two of us. Next thing I know, he goes, "want to see a movie?" and we pull into the Cobb Center and watch Top Gun. I was 15 so this movie was made for me, we really enjoyed it and I actually saw it again with a bunch of friends.

Too this day I pull the sleeves up on my sweater like Tom Skerritt Smile

Anyway, I may take the wife out on a date.

Looked last night at tickets
Reasonable, but all mid-day Wednesday showings.
Also, says it's 1hr51min runtime. Doesn't seem long enough for a double feature.

I saw Top Gun several times in the theater when it came out. Knowing I was under an aviation contract for the USMC I was beyond excited watching it. The reality wasn't as portrayed in the movie though. Like cops or lawyers or whomever who watch movies about their profession, I cringe at the flying seems when watching it now.

Still, it's an 80s classic and would be good to relive that heady euphoria of my youth again. I'll see if it's playing near me.

The geniuses here are showing them both...but in different theaters, with the second movie starting in one theater at 5:45 and the original in a different theater, starting about an hour and a half later, well before the second one ends..... Roll Eyes

Not my definition of double-feature Frown

No one around here is playing it as a double feature.
You buy tickets for each movie individually.

I guess some theaters could be timing it properly so you buy a ticket for each show and you just stay in the same theater.

We are going to see the original on Saturday. I was 3 when it came out so did not see it during its original release in the theater.

So very much looking forward to it. Saw Maverick in the theater for its release and it is possibly the best movie I have seen in the theater.

This weekend is going to be great. Get to see Demon Hunter in concert Friday night and Top Gun in the theater on Saturday.

Wow!!

So girlfriend and I did the original in IMAX tonight. Totally worth it! I’ve seen it I don’t know how may times and can quote the dialog from beginning to end. But seeing the F-14 on an IMAX sized screen was amazing.

So actual life size then right?

I did see Maverick in IMAX (when it came out, not this week) and it was totally worth it.
