oddballOh man.

And for me, Sutherland will ALWAYS be Hawkeye Pierce, not Alan Alda.

PrefontaineOne of my favorite actors of all time. He had a father quality into many of his roles. He will be greatly missed. 88 years is a great run for any of us. RIP.

rat2306And he was Pinkley in "The Dirty Dozen"; among his many other works. Sadly, I was also thinking recently of several others of renown that are in their late 80's and 90's that are seldom heard of.

AllenInAROf all his movie roles, it's "Animal House" that immediately springs to mind (followed quickly by "Invasion of the Body Snatchers").

hberttmankSorry to hear this. He had some good roles over the years. The OP might want to spell check the title to his post.

iron chefI enjoyed much of his work. IMO, he was a top-tier actor. I rate him up there w/ the likes of Robert Duvall, Gene Hackman, and Michael Caine.

PrefontaineHad to dig to find Lost Angels, a film he did in 1989, working as a psychiatrist in a facility for youths. Watched it last night in honor of him passing. That was one of my favorite roles. Originally watched in 1989 because of Adam Horovitz, aka AdRock from the Beastie Boys. Sutherland stood out. Another one of my favorite roles of his was 1999, Without Limits, as Donald playing Bill Bowerman, the famous, legendary coach of Steve Prefontaine in college. And Bill was also the founder of Nike.
