The Snow Walker, movie
We watched this movie today. It goes back to 2003, but we hadn’t seen it before. Good movie. Recommended.

Based on the Farley Mowat short story "Walk well my brother."
Nice little film, not life changing, or super Hollywood blockbuster (which is good), but a simple enjoyable movie.

Good story. I liked it. Can't imagine being in that predicament.

One thing I noticed, though. He looked to be carrying and using a Buck 110. Google tells me that that was released in '64 but the film takes place in '53. I'm not usually one to be nit-picky about such things, especially if the story is good, but that seems to be a rather obvious error.

10 people would have caught that. I would not have been one of them.

Edited to add:

It looks like a Damascus blade, which would probably be late 80’s/early 90’s since the movie is 2003. At least the ulu looks to be correct and not a souvenir. I looked that up.

Watching the movie on a better screen, the blade is not Damascus.

I liked the movie though.

They didn't work too hard on selling it as a period piece. Watching it you have sort of a "I'm not real sure when this is supposed to be" feel.

Giving it a zero out of five stars. The same number as the number of AT-ATs (or even variants like the AT-ST) Imperial walkers in the movie. Not even on Hoth once in the movie! A real miss for the Star Wars fan despite the title.

I liked it myself, it was a good story and well done.
