Sailor1911Got to see him and the band live in the early 70's in a tiny little place in Chicago. Couldn't have been more than 15 tables. That was before he became a star. Never forget that.

GustoferOne winter long ago, I was driving from Chicago to upstate NY through Detroit and Ontario, on my way to Watertown. I was driving (and living in) a 74 Pinto station wagon at the time and I had wired a Radio Shack cassette player into the dash. This album/cassette got a lot of play time on that trip along with Gord's Gold, John Prine, and Pink Floyd (yes, my tastes are somewhat eclectic). I'll always remember, "It's about a small town upstate NY called Watertown, NY...that's more than it deserves...I spent a week there one afternoon". Me? I spent a lifetime there over a couple of years.
What a great time. It's a shame they don't make songs like this anymore.
