creslinBrandon Sanderson
I know we have multiple members here who read his stuff.
One of the best (if not the best) fantasy authors in modern times IMO.
For those who may have missed it, he wrote 4 new books during covid lockdowns and is releasing them via kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/pr...anderson/descriptionThe goal for backing it was $1,000,000.
Two weeks in, we've hit $30,000,000.
It's become the biggest kickstarter of all time - by a huge margin.
Three of the new books are cosmere. One is not.

Lord VaalicI have really enjoyed most of his stuff. Just can't get into the Stormlight Archives, but his other work is excellent. So if you donate to this you get all 4 books?

Oz_ShadowSo you pay money and you may or may not get the books?

creslinYou will absolutely get the books.
The project is WAY over funded.
Sanderson has done a fair number of these kickstarters over the years and always delivers.

DanHCan you recommend any Sanderson science fiction stories? I know he’s an accomplished fantasy author, but I simply can’t get into sword and sorcery fantasy novels.

He honestly doesn’t do a whole lot of science fiction.
However, if you don’t mind trying out some young adult stuff..
The “Skyward” series is quite good.
It takes place some thousands of years in the future in our universe.
While the skyward series itself is fairly new (last few years), he has a short story he wrote in that same universe several years ago.
It’s published for free reading on his website:

(note: the short story is in much nearer future than skyward is)
