PrefontaineSo she just burns up the city with the dragon. The military and civilians both. I’ll be happy next Sunday that this is all over.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

In her own mind she did justify it, almost blaming Jon when he rejected her. "fear" And her speech of "Mercy" to future generations.

OrgussSeeing how much fire Drogon could spit makes me wonder if a valid tactic would have been to have the dragons perched on the walls of Winterfell just continually hosing down the army of the undead. No need for anyone to stray beyond the trench.

Lord VaalicSo the super secret strategy was....
Just fly in and burn the fuck out of everything? I was hoping to see some dragon armor, I guess we just got impenetrable plot armor.
Last week we can nail a dragon in the air a long way away with a perfect neck shot, this time nobody can hit shit.
I can fully buy her going ape shit on the Lannister army guys, even after they surrendered. And even burning down the red keep. But to just suddenly snap and burn women and kids alive is a bit of a stretch.
The Hound vs Mountain went the only it could given the rules of storytelling.
Who knows what Arya might do now, The Hound finally got through to her about revenge
All the wonder of who will kill Cersei... nobody. And as someone else pointed out, all the seasons of Jaime growing, and he just chucks it all for the woman he knows is poison. However, I did kind of like that they died together.

Lord VaalicThe Golden Company lasted even less time than the Dothraki did against the first wave of the dead....

The Good:
-Jamie and Tyrion's brief farewell was very well-acted.
-We finally got the Cleganebowl that everyone's been clamoring for over the last many seasons.
-The visuals were extremely well done. One of the most visually impressive episodes of the series.
The Bad:
-I just don't buy the whole "Dany goes from 0 to Psychopathic Mass Murderer, in the equivalent of half an episode". I think it could have really worked, had it been more fully fleshed out over a longer period. Like, say, a season or two. A slow burn into hereditary madness, so to speak. But, as we've mentioned already, this just seems like yet another example of the creators hurtling at breakneck speed into a extremely rushed ending.
So I guess the only thing left to debate is: Who's going to kill Dany next episode?
I think they're heavily feinting with Arya, but it will end up being someone less expected. Probably Jon. Maybe a bigger twist.
Agreed in every respect.
Arya is no longer murderous. The Hound and Dany cured her of that.
Maybe Tyrion kills Dany?

WhispThat felt very rushed, but it definitely had it’s good moments. I thought Dany’s actions were pretty much sealed when Jon pulled back and she gave that line about fear. I don’t get why Jon rejected her though, that just seemed out of place.

"deserves" ain't got nothin to do with it.

detroit192Anyone who thought there would be a happy ending has not been paying attention. Think Hamlet but with more death and insanity.
