120 Pound Piston
Many years ago a friend game me a piston from an old locomotive. It is 9" diameter, 13" long and has a 3.5" diameter wrist pin.

It was a 16 cylinder engine. The stroke was 4 ft. long and the connecting rods were 8 ft. long.

With this section of connecting rod, it weighs 121.5 pounds!

And I thought the spinning Doritos in my 13B were heavy. Eek

I used to service some equipment at the EMD engine plant in LaGrange Il. Everything was really big to say the least. Really neat to see the machining and assembly process.

I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

I had to look this up. From what I found on a quick search, the doritos weigh in from around 9 to 12 lbs. or so.
I did not know this.

I'm pretty confident mine's a 13B S4 (early 2nd generation RX7).
Rotors on those are usually around 12 lbs. I think that RX8 rotors were lighter & higher compression.

Here's a piston from a 2 stroke slow speed Sulzer I worked on.
