Reacher on Amazon
Just watched episode 1

It was pretty good. I’ve read the books but it was still good. Will watch the rest over the next few weeks.

Binged 1-6 last night, decent enough show a little out there on some things, predictable about others, an absurd plot, a little bit of The Accountant mixed in...

Guns, Cars, Sex, Fights, what's not to like.

Still decent entertainment...

The plot itself pretty well follows Lee Child's Reacher book #1, Killing Floor. Of course, embellishments for the screen.

I really liked it for all the reasons mentioned. but has anyone noticed Reacher's walk? It's more of a "glide" than a manly "stride". Most noticeable when he's walking along the side of the road at the end, and in a couple of other places. Really minor point, but it doesn't seem like the way he'd walk.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

We started watching it. It is enjoyable, light entertainment. No one will mistake it for high art, or even great TV, but it is fun.

I think that is intentional. Kind of the way he lives his life as a hobo just kind of glides from place to place.
Not really an purpose behind where or why he is walking.

I could have done without the full frontal shots of the dead guy on the wall. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.

I agree that was gross and over the top... I had actually blocked it from my memory.

Took me a moment to understand the joke

I enjoyed it. I watched it with my 14yo son which makes everything more fun. I’ve not read any of the books but my understanding is that the author gets a lot of firearms related things wrong, if so then at least the series stayed true to the books in that sense.

That’s why I like watching things with my son though. He doesn’t pick apart minor detail like I do and just enjoys the action.

A lot (most) of the fiction authors I read get firearms things wrong, from minor bits to full-out goofs. Stephen Hunter is the only author I've found that gets it all right.

Lee Child addressed this issue in the author's notes on his latest book.

I was finally able to watch the 8-part series and enjoyed it. The only complaint I have is that there appeared to be a lot of gratuitous violence. This may be due to watching the series 2-3 episodes at a time making it seem more apparent, but beyond that, I enjoyed the series and looking forward to the next one.

It is sort of a predictable shoot-em-up, with lots of action and violence, so I think it is a legitimate complaint. But it is still an entertaining series.
