"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams
“It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free." -Niccolo Machiavelli
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

My first was Elton John at the Palladium in NYC. If memory serves, it was 1978 or 1979.

Saw them about the same time frame at Park West in Park City, Utah. Still to this day the only concert I've ever left early from, they absolutely sucked!

I think it was in 1976 at RFK Washington DC, four bands and they were Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ted Nugent and Foreigner. What a day to remember.

Stones, July 1975. I was 20 and the wife of the guy I was working for was a big fan. She bought tickets in the fourth row from the stage but something came up and they went out of the country on a trip. She asked me if I wanted them. They were in the Omni, downtown where the Atlanta Flames and Hawks played at the time.

I went to see Electric Light Orchestra in 1976. Once my girlfriend and I sat down at the concert she informed me that she had to be home by midnight The opening act was the Outlaws and they were great. Then I took her home.
