Mission First Tactical minimalist stock opinions.
Any users? Thinking of trying it. I think it looks good. Reviews seem to indicate it is strong and lightweight. Thoughts?

Messes up how a rifle balances unless you have a very short and light rifle.

It is what I have had on my SBR for years now sturdy as any of my other stocks.

This one? https://missionfirsttactical.com/BMSMIL The term "minimalist" seems to be used on a lot of models.

I bought one of them for the rifle I put together for my nephew. Liked it enough that I bought one for myself. Decent lockup on quality tubes, though not totally wiggle free, close enough. My only real complain thus far is there's no QD socket. There's adapters available, which I will have to buy if I stick with it.

Just like any accessories, some like it, while others hate it. I'm in the latter camp. Not only does it feel alien, but that hook in the back is a snag waiting to happen.

If I may suggest take your stock and flip it upside down and take a peek.

That was the big grumble across the board when this thing was first introduced. People were making paracord braids for them. I think MFT was even selling them with the paracord.
However after many years of use I have had zero snag issues in regular clothes or with plate carriers or gear.

I have not heard anyone saying it actually snags on anything.
A plus is it maybe could be used as a pick for digging or prying if needed Wink

Compact+lightweight+cheap=CAR stock.
Durable=maybe not CAR stock.
Overall, I dig CAR stocks.

I love them. I have them on both of my "serious use" rifles.

That's not an issue. There are plenty of things on an AR that can snag on stuff, even basic stuff on every rifle like the pistol grip and magazine, but in actual use the rear of the MFT stock isn't prone to snagging any more than any other stock.

I have a couple on my SBRs for years. No issues.

Not minority enough!

I should have been more specific. No QD socket that's isn't in a stupid place. That one's fine if you want to carry it over your shoulder. Muzzle down across your chest the rifle stands way out and wants to roll upside down. At least for me.

Makes sense. I have mine on a single point since it is an SBR and works well there.
