Just out of curiosity, if you’re running a scope/LVPO/ACOG type set up, with another optic in a 45 degree mount, what are you using?

I’ve been a big fan of having a RMR in a 45, but the T1 and ACRO seems popular.

What do you use?

RMR or similar micro dot for me. I think most of that class of optics have too many parallax issues at distance to want to use them as a primary optic, but given the backup and CQB role of an offset dot, I think they make sense. The larger optics seem like you're adding weight, bulk, and possibly expense for very limited gain.

I just today installed this red dot, I had to use a 1/2" riser to get it to the same viewing height as the scope, which is a 2.5-10X with a BDC. It doesn't really look like it in this admittedly crappy photo, but it is installed at a 45 degree angle. I still need to get to the range and dial it in, however the (very) cursory bore sighting that I did seems to show it won't take much adjustment.

I have a Romeo5 I'm not using and have been looking at getting an Ariska mount for it to go on one of mine.
A smaller one would probably be better but I have the R5 to mess with to see if it's something I would like to spend more on.
And another plate for the mount is only $35 or so.
