Been waffling on getting a 9mm version, but decided I had enough 9mm PCCs, so picked up a SP45A3. Build quality looks great, takes UMP45 mags (which I already have), AR trigger, and threaded barrel. Only gripe right now is that the built in iron sight is not the flip ups used on the 9mm version. It’s a tiny front post and rear notch in a channel that runs down the center of the top rail. For some reason, the “rear” sight is at about the mid point of the rail instead of the rear, and I just have trouble seeing it. Need to get a RDS.

Hell yeah, man! Congrats! Looking forward to the range report. The strong recommends for this one are the HBI short stroke buffer, locking charging block, (probably their safety kit, too, honestly) and their B&T MP5 stock retrofit. I haven't paid for a stamp yet, but I bought the stock retrofit kit and swapped in a compatible CZ brace I had sitting around from my Bren since it's a direct swap. The adapter they make is quality, and you can fit any H&K pattern folding stock in there, like the G36 stock and... the UMP stock. I like that for the big boy calibers in the A3, they extended the receiver another Mlok section to ride more or less flush with the barrel. I'm going to be picking up an extension for my SP9A3 to get there. Their choices with backup sights are a bit puzzling, honestly. The move to a Picatinny channel was an improvement with these over the 9mm, but having the front sight in the middle of the rail is just dumb. Thankfully, when folded down, they're more of less completely contained unlike with the 9mm. I may just remove mine. Seems like a number of guys with the 45 and 10mm are removing theirs, too. Anyways, welcome to the club! Excited for you. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Thanks! I’ve looked at the HBI stuff, and not sure it needs the short stroke buffer as much as the 9mm ones. The factory buffer is different on the 10mm/45 guns, and from pulling the bolt all the way back, it doesn’t have much travel past the point where the bolt locks back. I’ll have to see when I get my optic and can go out and shoot it and see if I run into any problems. The HBI locking charging block is on my to buy list. Also thinking about a right safety delete kit, but it isn’t as annoying as on my Scorpion. Will probably end up getting a stamp, especially since it’s so easy to find 922r parts for. I’m curious how it’s possible for the guys to remove the iron sights. The front sight is a small height adjustable rotating post like an AR front sight. I guess you can take that out, but the rear sight is just a notch cut into one of the rail cross ribs. You can’t remove that.

That's good to hear. I haven't seen pics of one pulled apart yet, so I'm glad to hear they tweaked the buffer.
If I hadn't done a lower swap to use Scorpion mags, I would have definitely done a right side delete. I'm not sure if the dimensions are different on the lower and grip between the 9 and 10/45 or not, but the right side safety on my factory lower pivots right into my first knuckle, which blocks it unless I use a loose grip.
Yep, a couple HBI parts and a nice trigger and you're there.
Hmmm. This, I'll need to double-check on. It's entirely possible that I read something wrong or misunderstood someone. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

What is the serial numbered receiver on the Stribog? I know it there are numbers on multiple components, which is common on European guns. I assumed it was the lower because the metal serial number plate is molded into the polymer lower, which is typical for polymer guns (especially pistols).

It's the upper. There's aftermarket lowers, and they don't require an FFL. My factory lower has serials in all the same places yours does. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Damn it, that is cool. I might have to have the 10mm variant.

Oddly I don't see this model on the GP website, but it seems for sale in a couple of places. I am going to explore this, the one thing I hate about my LWRC is that it still needs a neilsen device and that precludes running trilug. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Relevant and pertinent: Fella on Reddit posted this today. LWRC, UMP built up off a USC, and the SP45A3. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I would have no idea how an LWRC would possibly run suppressed with no neilsen. And of course the king of these .45's smg's the APC45 wasn't there as its just about perfect except for the proprietary mags. Of course I have a zillion UMP mags for the LWRC and the HK so I'm searching for one of these in stock at a decent price. I bet it works pretty well. I don't see rollers etc. available so how does one maintain one of these? “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I haven't had to talk to them yet, but the importer is Global Ordnance, and I see good things about people contacting them for parts and support. I checked wikiarms and couldn't find an SP45A3 in stock anywhere. They're relatively new, I'm betting supply isn't keeping up with demand. I'm seeing good things overall, so it might be tricky to get ahold of one for a bit. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

JoeBob Outfitters and Rainer Arms both have them in stock. 115 + 115 = 230

And that, kids, is why you don’t run the LWRC SMG45 without a booster piston. Got mine from Bud’s and it came with the brace. Not sure if they all do.

Submitted a Form 1 on Tuesday and was surprised to get it back approved 48 hours later. Wasn’t expecting it to come back that quick. Now I have to figure out what stock, get it engraved, swap out some parts.

Hey, that's great! What stock you think you're gonna go with? Lots of choices. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Either the B&T stock, or I have an old MCX Kate Moss stock laying around.

I think either one of those would work great. The B&T stock really gives it that H&K look, especially with the UMP mags. The Kate Moss stock takes it in the futuristic direction. Can't go wrong either way. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est
