In the very short experience I have with a metro PD any buckshot was devastating to humans. Birdshot not so much we had a guy shot point blank through a car door window with birdshot and I am sure it wasn’t pleasant it was far from lethal/debilitating.

ANY of the buck shots....tended to be, well a serious social argument ender.

00 buck is NO JOKE within its effective range.

I cannot imagine a defensive slug (PDX1 etc). That must be hammer of thor at close range.
