I remember an old saying that "A golf course is a terrible waste of a good rifle range" or something like that.

Just had a great new idea, play a round of golf using launchers instead of clubs.

I assume really bad things other than the bullet slamming through the golf ball.

My mom has one at her Golf Outing every year. It's at one of the holes about halfway through. It's a crowd pleaser. That's my old CMMG Bargain Bin 20 inch AR.

I've always thought it would make a fun home defense tool. Dumb enough to break in the house, get nailed by a golf ball.

It's about 20 seconds into this video.

Looks like a lot of fun

Is it the whole upper or just the muzzle device? The odd looking carry handle, what is it?

It's one of the older "gooseneck" style optic mounts, which screws into the hole in the middle of the carry handle, and allows you a rail section to which you can mount an optic roughly in line with the iron sight line.

Those were mainly seen in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as an easy means to add red dot capability to older fixed carry handle rifle uppers, from before flat top AR uppers became the norm.

It's just a screw on muzzle device from NC Star. They are around $35 on eBay.

The funny rail thing is a gooseneck my nephew sent me when he was in service and they converted to M4 uppers from the C7/A2.
