So my green rifle build turned out fantastic. I wanted a lightweight rifle so I used a Ballistic Advantage .625 .223 Wylde SS barrel and VG6 SL muzzle brake which matches the thin profile of the barrel. My goal with this gun is self defense/game gun/range use. It is not meant to be a precision piece.

I started at 50yds and fired a 6rd group with 4 of the rounds going into one hole. This was with my hand load of 55gr Hornady SP. I then moved to 100yds and fired 15 rds at a 2” dot using the 3x Microprism. This was done at a decent pace. I am perfectly happy with the group for the intended role of this rifle.

Next I fired 7 rds of Hornady 62gr TAP which is the load I will use in the gun. It hit pretty much the same POI as my 55gr handload.

Overall I am extremely happy with the gun. There were no issues period. Next time out, I will try some of my 69gr SMK hand loads for real accuracy.

First group 55gr handload, 50yds .5” dot.

15 shots 55GR Hornady SP handload, 100yds 2” dot.

100yds 62gr Hornady TAP 2” dot

What is your thoughts on that optic? I ordered one too, recently, but haven’t mounted or tried it yet.

This answer is going to be a little long winded.

The PA microprisms are the closest thing that I have personally used that come close to a Trijicon ACOG. I am fortunate to be able to afford any optic I want and have owned 30 plus acogs over the years. I used a RCO in Afghanistan for 13 months and while a fantastic optic, it was great for midrange engagements but not so great for CQB. With that being said, I no longer own any ACOGS and own 3 of the Micro Prisms, a 3x and 2 1x models. They are 95% of the ACOG at 1/4 the price. They are also daylight bright , have an etched reticle, I can adjust them to my eyes, are smaller with MUCH BETTER eye relief and FOV and the 3x still works well in the CQB environment. Trijicon is still using old technology and charging stupid prices for that old technology because they still sell to the military. There is no need to innovate if the biggest end user of your product is the United States Military. I would much rather give my money to an American company, but they refuse to offer us anything close. If China can do it, why can’t the greatest country in the world do it?

I said all that to say…I like it.

Fantastic post! With my astigmatism, I have struggled with red dots and have been looking at the PA and ACOG. I know the PA prisms have positive feedback from NTOA reviewers, but really appreciate your candid thoughts on them. Solid work on the rifle too.. Thanks for sharing!
