Athlon BTR 6-24x50 w/ MOA Reticle
Anyone played with any of these optics. I pulled the trigger on their Argos BTR 6-24x50 with MOA reticle/turrets. I've got it mounted and really like the reticle so far. I've got a Mil/Mil scope and it hurts my brain. Big Grin So I settled in on a MOA/MOA scope was going to be my next glass.

I don't have a lot of experience with high end glass. Nor do I have the money to spend $1K-$3K on glass. So... With that being said.. so far I'm really impressed. I'll primarily use it to bang at steel and occasionally shoot for groups at varying distances, using bulk ammo.

Anyone else know anything about them? Any experiences? Good? Bad? UglY?

Likely made in China by the same factory that makes these for PA.

Scope construction / design looks very similar.

It's funny. That's actually the mil scope I have on my 22LR Tacsol x-ring. Only thing I really have to compare it to. The fit & finish of the Athlon feels better. I feel like I might be able to club someone with it and be fine.

I'll have to see how it does in the indoor range where lack of light can be a issue. But I feel like it's better glass.

I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't better constructed or have better glass - just the design characteristics are too obviously not to question. But at that price point I have a hard time thinking it wasn't made in China or maybe the PI.

Those factories make all sorts of optics at all sorts of price points.

Just like the Holosun / SIG Romeo optics, the same, but different, but similar - all rolled into one.

I've heard good things about Athlon scopes around the course. Lots have bought them and are happy with them.

Good luck with yours.

Ohh I have no doubt it was made in China. I know several large shops there make different brand on the same line.

I have a Talos BTR 4-14 and an ARES BTR 4.5-27 from them and they are both quite nice at their price point.
