There have been a few smaller manufacturers offering billet M14 receivers lately, like LRB Arms, James River Armory, and Bula. So almost certainly one of those.

My guess is James River Armory. They're close to PSA, they have over a decade of experience building M14s, and they have a history of collaborating with other companies on historical arms rebuilds/reproductions.

PSA says the (multi year) plan is to put them into regular production. And Garands at some point.

James River armory is making them for PSA. They’re billet forged receivers. LRB still remains the only manufacturer of hammer forged receivers.

James River armory has invested in the machinery needed to make their own receivers. JRA no longer outsources receiver production.

They need to post some close up pics of the receiver markings, my hope is that they'll do a faithful H&R roll mark since they now own the trademark, and not repeat the travesty that is Springfield, where they hog the trademark yet doesn't attempt to do any proper clone markings on them, while preventing others who can from doing so.

I'm hoping that they will be outstanding rifles. Was just watching a video from Classic Firearms (which had a batch of JRA builds on Bula receivers, the guy said) and they sold very quickly. It's not been said, but I'm wondering if they are able to get original GI parts from the CMP depot. During my enlistment in the Navy way back, I got to have an M14 in my hands just three times. And only with blanks. The Marines often gave me an M16A1 or A2 and real ammo when needed. Perhaps they trusted me more.

PSA has been getting absolutely savaged on Reddit over the $2,100 price tag for these things, nevermind that the first run sold out in minutes. I guess having an in-built customer base of guys who are used to buying an AR or Glock clone for $350 has warped and skewed perspectives of what other guns cost. The rotating bolt family of rifles was never cheap to manufacture, it's one of the reasons we adopted Stoner's rifle design in the first place.

The new CMP Garands (just checked...) are showing $1900 plus shipping. A quality M1A or M14 at that price point in my mind would be a steal with a machined receiver. I can see $2100 easily for the H&R/PSA if built correctly.

I think it's a reasonable price. Guys keep pointing to the SA stuff at $1,600 like the price makes more sense. They're cast receivers, as I understand it, and these are forged with USGI parts.

$2100 stock, sounds fair to me.

Considering LRB currently gets $3400 for a complete GI trim rifle on a forged receiver (with reclaimed GI bolt), $2100 doesn't seem too bad.

Does get your hopes up too much- psa also said they were going to manufacture 5.45x39 ammo then pulled the plug.

Well... AAC also makes dogshit ammo. Maybe that's a controversial take in some circles, but if you've been paying attention for the last, I dunno, decade, it's clear that PSA/AAC doesn't have the ammo thing totally figured out. Subcontracting receivers from one company to have some smiths from a retro brand they own build up M14's is decidedly a whole apples to oranges thing vs recreating a Euro-only caliber. This is America in 2025, building a new M14 isn't exactly rocket science.
