Are Gen 3 pmags that much better then gen 2? Has anyone had a loaded gen 2 without a dust cover spread the feed lips or is this over blown?

There’s a whole thread about just a few below yours.

https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/1770004484

If you’re using them in an AR, the Gen 2’s are fine. You lose the handy-dandy “dot matrix” and included dust cover, but dust covers are available for the Gen 2, and yes, spread feed lips without the dust cover on a loaded mag is a thing.

Wasn't looking to step on that post, was just wondering if this Gen 2 feedlip problem was the real deal? Have a bunch of Gen 2s loaded with out dust covers and with the cost of dust covers for a few bucks more I can buy new gen 3 mags with them.

Afaik, it’s a real deal with Pmags, regardless of the generation. It has to do with the material more than anything else.

Gen 3 Pmags have a narrower baseplate and fit together better side-by-side in Molle mag pouch than Gen 2s do. Depending on the pouch, I've heard some users complain they can't get two Gen 2 mags in there or at least not w/o a lot of difficulty.

Really unless you may put your mags in an HK416 or SCAR, there’s really no functional difference between the two. I have 20 or so Gen3s in rotation at work and haven’t had any issues.

What's your problem, snowflake? Please point out some of this "ripping"

The apart part, we're cool on that. Got plenty of parts parts to part with, and ain't one damn bit of it ripped. Hell, it's not even rippled.

+1 on everything re the paint matrix and the slimmer fit on floorplates. Stacking Gen2 in a pouch never worked well for me, so I stuck with OKAY Surefeeds (the original, not "enhanced" with the bumps). Gen3 is worth the upgrade.

As for storage, I never experienced it with Gen2 (I shot quarterly so my mags never stayed loaded long term and I swapped them frequently) but some people I shoot with were the kind of people that loaded every mag they owned and let them sit for YEARS, and the spread was a real thing for them.

1. That's not even close to an insult.
2. You started with ignorant and inaccurate sweeping accusations.

I provided you with four links in which I have said unflattering things about Pmags, and now, it's your turn to back up your claim.

You've made a claim I know is not true. You want to be treated with deference when you lie about my forum? Get your head out of your ass.

5. That's up to you, but if you choose to post again in this forum, either you should be prepared to back up your claims with evidence such as providing links to posts, or you should keep your claims to yourself. I will not tolerate unfounded criticism of this forum, and since you've not provided any evidence, then, unfounded it is.

All that thrashing about over being called a snowflake, and not one speck of evidence to back up your claim.

I didn't make any such claim. When someone calls you a name, is that how you characterize it? As a claim? You need to get over it, or leave. I told you it was up to you whether or not you stayed, but that latitude is about to expire.
