Saw one for sale in the classifieds but could not pull the trigger for a coulpe of reasons but got me thinking that this might be my next AR for a few reasons. 1 - Two stage 4 lb trigger 2 - MagPul Furniture 3 - Love the rail (longer and slim so I can extend my front hand out almost straight like I do on my PCC AR rifle). 4 - Flat top and optic ready 5 - 18” barrel Looking on line I see they run about $600 (if anyone knows where to find on for less please post it here) and wanted to ask the Forum Friends if anyone has one and if so do you really like it....Seems to be a good deal for the provided options over the standard basic AR’s that are going for about $125.00 less....Thanks Mark

I have read a whole lot of bad reports on them. Tiger has terrible QC, their reputation is really only maintained through CS. There’s a copy/paste somewhere with a whole bunch of people on Reddit with various complaints about it. I’ll see if I can find it.

No experience but Ruger has been in the game long enough to build a quality AR I would sure think. I am not sure what I could say a Reddit reviews? "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Good thing I didn’t post them for you. But you’re free to open them if you’d like, or also, you can wallow in your own ignorance as well.

I will take door number three for the win on this one! Thanks. [/QUOTE] It’s incredible to me that you are actually touting the avoidance of knowledge as a virtue. Also incredible that your stance is to give Ruger a blind pass because they’ve been around for awhile. Sig has been around awhile as well, but I’m sure they and Ruger love your blind devotion to their products despite their glaring QC problems. Well, I’ve given OP a vast amount of resources to make his own decision, while you have contributed literally nothing to this thread. I’m glad you’re happy with that outcome.

Old Rugged Cross, you made a general comment about something you have no experience with, exactly how helpful is that to the OP? It's not. Now you're giving someone a hard time for actually producing information that the OP asked for? Knock it off. To all of you who are serving or have served our country, Thank You |
I got one of the early ones and it works just fine with proper full power military ammo. Very happy with it. I did use threadlocker and re-torque gas block before firing it was not as tight as I thought it should be. Same with the handguard. I see Buds has 5 star rating on 20 reviews so not everyone is having problems with them. Yes Ruger seems to have QC issues at times but they have been good about taking care of it from my experience.

My apologies Arc. Did not realize dw owned one. All of my Ruger's have been rock solid and span over 50 years of construction. So my general opinion of their products are positive. Just conveying that to the op. I could of searched the internet for ton's of positive reviews and linked them to this thread but did not think it was warranted. Dwd, ORC, Jelly, and Indiana - Thanks to all of you for taking time to respond. Dwd - thanks for taking the time you did by providing the links you did.... Truth told because I have a couple Anderson lowers in the vault I think I am gonna give Indiana’s link a try...I have a small gift card from my son to PSA and with me having the lower in hand this kit can ship direct to me.... Again thanks to all of you...I will let you know when I get this in hand and put together...This thread actually just saved me over $200.00...Mark

Late to the party, but I have an MPR and have run 4-500 rounds through it without a hiccup. Trigger is great, accuracy is better than I'm used to. It's just the basic, respected AR556 with upgrades. Youtube is full of positive reviews. That said, the route you are taking is absolutely terrific. I'm thinking of getting an upper from PSA for the MPR. Had I known more about Palmetto last May I may have skipped the MPR. I just thought they were some redneck version of Midwayusa selling backyard AR's. Wrong.

https://palmettostatearmory.co...green-516446411.html I bought a PSA kit like this one, but on sale for $259.99 last month. I bought a twenty round Amend2 magazine, AR sling, and stripped Anderson lower from a local gun shop and put it together for $345.17 minus a rear sight. I mounted an old Weaver K2.5 scope on it. With my old eyes and a mixture of ammo it will shoot 2 MOA. No telling what it would do with quality ammo and more magnification. While this would not be something I would invade a Third World country with; it is a perfectly functioning and decently accurate firearm for the intended purpose. I will leave it at our home in the mountains so I will have a rifle to shoot groundhogs with. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Colby Bruce,
